I recently had to switch keyboards on my laptop since it got wet and some of the keys stopped working. However, upon installing it, I noticed that the pointing stick doesn't work. I tried putting the old keyboard back in-- that didn't work either.
The pointing stick didn't appear in Device Manager either, and I made sure that the ribbon connector was secure.
I don't know if there's a connection on the motherboard that's broken or if I could get something this small repaired, but any help would be appreciated.
My computer is an HP Elitebook 6930p running Windows 7.

try to look at the pins at the old keyboard and count out the amount of "slots" ( the pins ) in the connectors and try to match the any slots/notches on the mobo and the keyboard and reseat the mouse. if possible
