WSUS & WIndows defender & XP

I have a problem to update windows defender through WSUS (windows server 2003). Every time windows defender trying update from microsoft server but I want to update him with WSUS. And every time I got same error


Code 0x8024401b

Yes, we have proxy server but windows defender has no reason to contact proxy server


And why is version 1.0???

Maybe this give you some clue



If I'm not mistaken defender uses Windows Update to download the definitions, when you have a proxy set on IE the WU client also respect the proxy setting.

WSUS does download definitions but only if you allow them so tick the box on the auto allowed section of WSUS
