Hi, my laptop is running slowly; I have done usual maintenance and run disk clean, and then FRST - the log generated some errors which I do not understand or know how to deal with.  If anyone would be kind enough to take a look and give me advice on how to delete/fix the errors noted at the bottom of the log, I would be very grateful.  I am running Windows 10, all other information is helpfully noted on the log I see.  I am attaching both logs.

Many thanks

Glad to know the logs didn't show any errors, thanks.

Laptop still slow.  I only use Microsoft Word - this takes ages to open.  Suspected Windows Update error, but when I run it - says it is up to date.

Running Windows troubleshooting tool to fix Update errors I get message saying components corrupted and need to be fixed - done.

but, windows update still says it is up to date and the troubleshooting tool says it is still corrupted and fixes it, again - and so on.

thanks.

c

Check the integrity of the operating system files.
How to run sfc /Scannow
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833

When completed refer to the Microsoft article again and follow the instructions to view details of the System File Checker process

Post the contents of the sfcdetails.txt file for my review.

Let me know if the problem persists.

If the problem persists fix the Component store.

Please Download Tweaking.com - Windows Repair from Here

  • Install and then run the program
  • Execute the instructions on Step 1 Important
  • Click Next on Step 2 Optional, do the Pre Scan skip Step 3 and 4 Optional for now.
  • On Step 5 Backup System Restore Do a Registry backup. When you have completed this click Next
  • Click Repairs - Open Repairs in the bottom right corner
  • Uncheck the All repair button then select just the item(s) listed below

  • 29 - Repair Windows 8/10 Component Store

  • Click the Start button and let the process run to completion. Copy any error messages into Notepad, Save it on your Desktop. ( Reboot if asked to do so)
  • Please copy and paste the Contents of this file on your next reply.

Sorry Nasdaq, I forgot to say that I had already ran the scannow function; it was clear, no problems there.

I will run the component store fix later, as I am at work now.

Thanks very much.
