I recently installed HitmanPro to remove some malware.  It just removed some nasty pup's because I had already done some cleaning with FRST, Avast, MBAM, CCleaner, AdwCleaner and HitmanPro.

Now, every time I bootup it is Scanning my pc, or the Browser.  This may end when the Paid Version ends and not that big a deal, I assume it is helpful because bc.com uses it.  However, I would have liked to turn the thing OFF, but cannot...any advice would be very welcome.

Thanks, Pcpunk

Hi pcpunk,

To stop Hitman Pro's startup scan Start Hitman Pro as a Admin >> Click Settings >> Click Scan >> Uncheck "Run a scheduled scan on my computer (recommended)". On the next restart Hitman Pro will no longer scan on restart.

Regards.

Thanks VB30, but how do I start as Admin, right click on it I think I tried that?  Guess I could google it.  Can't try it now as that install is gone, but like to use that program so need to know how to do this.

Thanks again, Pcpunk

Yes.

Once Hitman Pro is installed again, the next time you run it, Right Click the Hitman Pro Icon and click Run as administrator. There should be a UAC warning, click yes and then you will be able to access the settings. Note the settings are on the bottom left hand side of the window >> Scan Settings is located on the top left hand side second button along. From there you can Uncheck "Run a scheduled scan on my computer (recommended)".

Regards
