Hello all,
Right where do i start,my pc is a HP pavillion and was running and turning on and off perfectly until i updated my windows 10 about 2 weeks ago the pc shut down and never restarted, the fans powered up,the led on the front was on but nothing else happened. After about 10 restarts it finally came on and ran perfect. So heres what ive done re seated everything,Tried another psu,put my ram sticks in another pc,disconnected everything and tried to boot, new thermo paste on cpu, tried graphics card in another pc,changed cmos battery and cleared cmos, changed sata cables to hdd, reinstalled windows 8.1 with a fresh install and removed all old windows.Yet if i turn it off it will not come back on without at least 10 attempts.One thing i did notice was sometimes when trying the power led on the front fails to light up but the fans and dvd drive still started. So i removed the 4 plug to the mb and replugged it back in and the power light came on then still didnt start. So yesterday kids turned off pc and again 15 times to start yet this time dvd isnt working but now its on runs fine no crashes im completely at a loss tried everything.

intel 13 3220 cpu
1tb hdd
8gb ram
nvidia gforce gt620
wind 8.1 pro
Any help would be super cool and thanks for looking and reading.

Please download MiniToolBox  , save it to your desktop and run it.

Checkmark the following checkboxes:
List last 10 Event Viewer log
  List Installed Programs
List Users, Partitions and Memory size.

Click Go and paste the content into your next post.

Also...please Publish a Snapshot using Speccy taking care to post the link of the snapshot in your next post.

Go to Piriform's website, and download the free version on the left.  Click Download from Piriform.com (the FileHippo link requires an extra click). Or if you want to use a portable version of Speccy (which doesn't require installation), click the builds page link and download the portable version. You will now be asked where you want to save the file. The best place to put it is the Desktop, as it will be easy to find later.

After the file finishes downloading, you are ready to run Speccy. If you downloaded the installer, simply double-click on it and follow the prompts until installation is complete. If you downloaded the portable version, you will need to unzip it before use. Right-click the ZIP file and click Extract all. Click Next. Open up the extracted folder and double-click on Speccy.

Once inside Speccy, it will look similar to this (with your computer's specifications, of course): p22004369.gif

Now, at the top, click File > Publish Snapshot. You will see the following prompt:

p22004371.gif

Click Yes > then Copy to Clipboard

p22004372.gif

Now, once you are back in the forum topic you are posting in, click the p22004370.gif button. Right-click in the empty space of the Reply box and click Paste. Then, click Add Reply below the Reply box.

I don't see any clues that make sense to me.  The usual suspects (hard drive, overheating) are not wholly unusual and the obvious component suspect would be the PSU, were this system mine.

Out of my league since it seems to be component/hardware related...please be patient and wait for some opinions from the more knowledgeable members/visitors to this forum.

Hello there, and welcome to Bleeping Computer.

SFC.EXE /SCANNOW
Go to Start and type in "cmd.exe" (without the quotes)
At the top of the search box, right click on the cmd.exe and select "Run as adminstrator"
In the black window that opens, type "SFC.EXE /SCANNOW" (without the quotes, and notice there is a space between the sfc.exe and the /scannow) and press Enter.
Let the program run and post back what it says when it's done.

Okay, nothing to worry there for the moment. I believe you may have trouble with the jumper on the motherboard itself, but did you use the jumper to reset CMOS, cleared the BIOS, or what? Or do you not have a jumper (as many modern boards come without it)?

Nonetheless, if after re-seating all components inside the PC, there is the part on testing each one using software. Have you done any tests, yet?

Please answer those questions, as this is still a bit ambiguous. We can diagnose a core problem if we're able to run tools, do tests, and see if there is a hardware fault. If you already swapped the PSU, consequently, it makes things more difficult if the problem continues. However, I'm sure we'll come up with something, but I don't want to give you false hope either. So, let's try our best!

Okay, so wait on the tests until you get the PSU and try it out?

Therefore, please let us know how it works, and we will try to continue diagnostic if necessary. We love solutions, so that people who visit the topic will find it potentially useful. :) I look forward to what the result will be.
