I'm reinstalling windows 7 and whenever I install office 2010 and select the option to 'Install updates only' on first running it, it always re-enables windows auto update and tries to download a bunch of updates. It does this even when wireless or the router is off.

I therefore get a bunch of failed updates in my history and the shutdown option tells me it's going to install updates when I shutdown. Is there anyway to stop this from happening?

EDIT: I guess I could just make sure I install the update agent/client that fixes windows update after I install office so it can't search for updates until I can change the windows update setting back... Is there no other way than making sure windows update is crippled when installing office?
