"Start Menu" folder appeared on desktop.

No idea where this came from but it cannot be deleted!
Googled the problem and MS Answers recommend right click on start button select properties and change display from "start menu" to "classic", supposedly the offending folder then disappears and you can then repeat the process to change back to the original display setting job done!

...oh no it's not!
How do I get rid of the blessed thing?


Edit: False alarm! Although the folder is still there, I can now right click it and "shift delete" it!
