Hello, I am very new to RADIUS, and I have been assigned this. There are basically three unifi access points connected to the Powerconnect switch, The switch is then connected to the sonicwall. We want to setup RADIUS to manage the wifi access points.

The workstations are also connected to the same switch and all the users are managed through active directory.

I dont know where to start.

Any suggestions, help, tip or steps is appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

What if the server goes down someday? What can be the better options to have a backup?

How can it be implemented. Please let me know if you have any idea about it.

Thanks

By backup, do you mean something to make it easier to restore the RADIUS server after a crash, or a second RADIUS server to give redundancy in case the first goes down? I don't think the stock version of Ubiquiti allows for redundancy although I am sure there is a way to get it to work. I searched around online, but couldn't find a clear answer. Hopefully someone with more experience can assist you better. Good luck.

I actually mean redundancy in case the first goes down.

Thank you for the efforts. Do you know any more portals where more members are active?

I would like to post my questions there.

Thank you again ;)

I can't think of a better forum on this site for your question. I just don't think the networking part of this forum gets many views by comparsion. Sometimes it just takes time.

As for other sites, Unifi has it's own forum and support site that looks very robust. DSLReports has their Wireless Networking forum. You can get some decent info, but watch out for trolls.
