System crashes, no BSOD, have to manually reboot.

My system seems to crash whenever I am playing a video game (I haven't noticed it do it otherwise) but get no BSOD and cannot for the life of me figure out why. I noticed it doing it since a recent update back around the 30th. It's a fairly new system, few months old and hasn't had a hiccup running all sorts of games and programs until now. I was told there was an option to roll back on the update to a previous one but when I go to Settings>Update&Security>Recovery, there is only Reset this PC and Advanced startup. Should I do a system restore to before the 30th and if the problem persists than assume its hardware?

You can try rolling back the system back if you think that might help. Go to search type sysdm.cpl and open that up. Open system protection tab & select Windows 10 (c:) (system), Next, click on the system restore button. If there are any restore points they will show by date/time of last. You can select them and do a scan for affected programs.

 

As far as speccy goes everything is normal, temps, hd errors, memory and cpu specs. Thought I would point out though, that if you're using dual monitors, your primary monitor is running 50hz and the secondary is running 60hz. Both are identical monitors and screen resolution.

 

There is always a chance of things being hardware related, but first start with the basics...

 

Be sure you have updated Windows (anniversary update).

 

Be sure to update your motherboards drivers...http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5497#dl

 

Be sure to update you  Nvidia drivers.

 

Be sure you have updated software and drivers for your SSD drives.
