I have an E machines t2082 and we had XP on it, well the discs got broken due to hubbys carelessness and the system went down. We had to replace the mother board and now it wont load the boot disc, it keeps giving us "restore windows in safe mode" screen and their is 3 other options too. We were told to use our XP recovery disc to try and get it to work.

Problem is, we dont have one. Can you purchase them????

what boot disc are u using, is it an e-machines oem copy of xp?

if so, this may not work as you've changed the motherboard, check with:

http://www.emachines.com/support/product_support.html

there may be a hidden partition on your harddrive put there at manufacture by e-machine that can recover xp (slim chance), if so, support link should have info, or be able to supply replacement discs,

good luck

Please contact eMachines and explain what model and number you have and what has happened and I am sure they have new recovery disk sets, it is just a matter of how much they are going to charge for them. You will need to know what the system stats are and you should be ok.
