I've always had trouble updating flash using the web installer and needed to uninstall and install the full download. You can get it here.

Hello and welcome, @cpunoob:

You don't mention which version you need (ActiveX for IE or NPAPI for Firefox, etc.), and I do not know if XP is still supported, but...

...rather than using a 3rd-party site to get it, for safety's sake, it may be advisable to download directly from Adobe.

Mod Edit:  Removed unnecessary direct download links...the only links needed are those to the Adobe website - Hamluis.

Here is the general site to download for any OS and browser: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/

Here's where to test your installed version: http://www.macromedia.com/software/flash/about/

EDIT: Better link: http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/

Here's the uninstaller (if you need it): http://download.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/support/uninstall_flash_player.exe

EDIT: Better link: https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html

HTH,

MM

Hi:

Yes, you beat me to it. <LOL>

PPAPI is for Chrome (and is embedded in that browser).

NPAPI is for Firefox.

ActiveX is for IE/Edge.

Glad that worked for you.

Cheers,

MM
