Hi, I just installed windows 7 sp1, activated it and am running it just fine. I wanted to run windows update but windows update is infinitely searching for new updates, i have manually installed a bunch of updates that others said worked for them (on the microsoft page) but it didn't work for me. I have tried using the troubleshooting tool for it but that didnt work either. Any help?

Make sure you have IE11 installed and not IE9 before you try the updates again.

Check this thread. It would also be wise to manually download and install .NET 4.6.1 in addition to IE11
