Hello, i have a problem hosting things of my computer. And it happens with almost everything:

Host a Hamachi network = nobody can connect

Run a Minecraft game on LAN = nobody can connect

Computer on the network = no other computer on the network can see it

Also, when i try to ping another computer on Hamachi, i just keep getting a "Request timed out" message

When i ping the Peer on another computer, I get the same message

I have check many forums and nothing has helped. Any ideas on why this is happening?

Regarding the Hamachi issue, you can try port-forwarding ports on your router.

Portforward.com is a good resource for port-forwarding instructions.

That 2nd hop concerns me.  Go into your router and note the wan ip address.  Then go to ipchicken.com and compare that ip address to the wan one.  Are they the same?

This may sound dumb but where is the wan IP address listed on my router?

You have to log into the router and go to the wan page. You will see your wan ip there.

I don't see that. Is it different for the Firmware Version V1.0.3.6_1.0.63CH?

Update: I can port forward on all computers, and every computer uses the port forward properly, except this one PC (the one I was talking about all along)  simply wont use that port and it still can't do the things I listed in the first post. But all the other computers do things just fine.

http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/R6300/R6300_UM_1Jun12.pdf

look at page 30 for the wan ip info

" I can port forward on all computers"

Um this statement doesn't sound right.  You can only forward a port to a single ip address.  So unless you set the pc port listener to a different port and configured the router to forward that different port....or you are changing the ip address in the router each time for a particular port...

For example lets say you wan to RDP to each pc in your lan.  You would set one rdp listener to the standard port of 3389.  The next pc you would change the listener to 3390, etc

It would look like this in the router:

port 3389 forwarded to 192.168.0.10 [pc1]

port 3390 forwarded to 192.169.0.11 [pc2]

etc.

but you say its only one computer.  Ok

Please post the following:

1. ipconfig /all via a command prompt from the problem pc

2. results of a netstat -a via command prompt when the minecraft server is running on the problem pc

3. screen shot from the router of the minecraft forward to this problem pc

AFAIK if you are using a VPN, you don't need to port forward the ports because Minecraft isn't going through your router's NAT, it is going through the VPN tunnel. Instead, you probably need to set the correct ports in the Minecraft config and then allow those ports in your firewall. See here for instructions. Once you do that, friends should 25.101.200.41:25565 or what ever IP and port you use. As of right now the port is being filtered/blocked.
