I am not sure if anyone has seen this variant before because I could not find anything on ID ransomware page or searching the forums. The files have the extension .dll. The ransom was paid and a ".config" file was given which looks like a list of ip addresses. The ransom page says that you will be able to get the decryptor, but I do not see any decryptor. Perhaps someone has seen this before? Sample file: https://www.sendspace.com/file/3unr83 Ransom note : https://www.sendspace.com/file/ywv0gd

Thanks in advance!

Interesting, I believe it may be an evolution of a ransomware we've dubbed "APT" (which you would have seen detected on ID Ransomware), but I have been unable to discover much more information on it.

If you have a sample of the malware, we may need it for analysis. If you could also supply the .config file or any links they gave you. You may submit them here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/submit-malware.php?channel=168

As I understood, APT in IDR now called F*ck Society.

Is there a reference to the analysis results?

We have not secured a confirmed sample of either yet, but the ransom notes are almost exactly the same, just a change in logo and name.

I did get them, but neither encrypted any files on the VM. Was planning on taking a closer look, didn't see anything that looked like ransomware from a quick static analysis.

It's confirmed this is a new variant of NegozI / RemindMe / Sanction Ransomware. The malware author cannot provide a decrypter because it generates a random key per file and never stores it anywhere. Each file would have to be brute-forced. They are a total scam. I'm afraid there's nothing further that can really be done to decrypt the files.

Rather than have everyone with individual topics, it would be best (and more manageable for staff) if you posted any more questions, comments or requests for assistance in the below support topic discussion. To avoid unnecessary confusion, this topic is closed.
