Is it .zapto or .zepto?

If the extension is .zepto, the encryption is a variant of Locky, and currently cannot be decrypted without paying the ransom.

See the following topic for more information and decryption updates (if any): http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/605607/locky-ransomware-zepto-support-and-help-topic-help-instructionshtml/page-31

Did you rename the extension at all? I see one user from India uploaded the same ".zapto" file multiple times to ID Ransomware, and then uploaded the same file with the extension ".zepto" (which was then correctly identified as Locky). Was this you by chance? I have had no other submissions of ".zapto"; usually I get dozens of Locky submissions per hour, so I know quickly when there has been an extension change.

There is an ongoing discussion in this topic where you can ask questions and seek further assistance. Other victims have been directed there to share information, experiences and suggestions.Rather than have everyone with individual topics, it would be best (and more manageable for staff) if you posted any more questions, comments or requests for assistance in the above support topic discussion...it includes experiences by experts, a variety of IT consultants, end users and company reps who have been affected by ransomware infections. To avoid unnecessary confusion, this topic is closed.

If it turns out that you are actually dealing with something new, please send me a PM and I will reopen this topic.
