Hey everyone =]

Recently got myself the Alfa R36 and Alfa AWUS036H to use in my mobile home.

Lots of tutorials to set it up and they are all pretty similar and simple.

I can set up the network fine, but internet doesn't seem to want to come through to the created network. I get some warnings in my router's system log:

MRT_DEL_MFC; Errno(2): No such file or directory

As well as others saying that the origin has been changed. I googled these but couldn't really find anything that relates, or any fixes.

Both the original router and the R36 have updated firmware and this is the second R36 I've used with the same problem, so I guess the problem lies with either the settings on the R36 or in the original router.

If anyone has any experience with these or if you have any suggestions they would be much appreciated. I'm very inexperienced with networks so please go easy.

Thanks again,

englishfellow.

Do you get internet if you do a wired connection to the Alfa R36?

http://www.wifisolutionslynx.com/Manuals/R36%20USER%20MANUAL2.pdf

Who is your internet provider and what type [cable, dsl...]?

What level of security are you using on the router? [wep, wpa...]

Does the Alfa AWUS036H adapter see the router?

Unfortunately the notebook I'm using doesn't have a ethernet port for me to try wiring it in, but I will try with someone else's later when I can.

I'm in the UK and my ISP is talktalk and I'm on dsl.
The home router is using WPA/WPA2 - personal PSK

The R36 I've set up with both WPA2 (PSK) and disabled and no difference.

The AWUS036H sees the router and can connect to the network, its just not getting internet.

Thanks for the response!

Please connect to each router, the talktalk one and the Alfa and once connected post the results of a ipconfig /all via a command prompt from each for review.

I suspect both routers have the same lan subnet and as such until you change the Alfa's lan subnet you can't route/get internet.
