Recently my laptop unexpectedly started with the error: "recovery Your pc/device needs to be repaired The boot configuration data for your pc is missing or contains errors. File:\efi\microsoft\boot\bcp Error code:0xc0000185 You'll need to use recovery tools. if you don't have any installation media (like a disc or USB device), contact your pc administrator or pc/device manufacturer" I have installed the media onto a flash drive and enabled secure boot in the boot configuration. however, when I boot from the USB drive (which it seems to be reading because it shows the usb's name as sandisk) it does not work correctly. when usb boot is selected the hp logo shows up with a loading wheel for about 5 minutes then the screen goes completely blank. Pressing any key does not do anything and in order to get anything to work I have to restart the computer.

Please help!!!

Where did you get the installation media?

Is this media for your version of Windows 10 (Example: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit)?

Before you used the installation media did you change the boot order in the BIOS to allow USB media to be the first device in the boot order, and the ssd/hdd the second device?

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.
