I accidentally pulled out a little wire and can't figure out where it goes on my ASUS M5A88-M motherboard. . Now my computer won't turn on.

The connector says Reset SW on it, but those reset slots (of the 10 side by side slots) are already used. There is 1 open slot, PWRSW PWR, with 1 gold pin out of the bottom. I tried that connection (see photo) but

still no power.

Here I tried to plug it into the 1 pin, but no power. Any ideas? (sorry for the dust - didn't know it had accumulated wink.gif)

When all else fails, read the manual.

Giving your pc a clean out with a bit of compressed air wouldn't be a bad thing either jimlau. Just make sure you stick a pen or something in the fans when you do it, so they don't spin and send a charge the wrong way into the board. That can break them.

I did check my manual. as described in my post. The 5th from the right connector, PWR, is the 1 I tried but no luck.

Follow the diagram then mate and plug in the plug horizontally across the pins.

From the schematic did you place the power connector on both the fifth and fourth blocks. Ground is the fourth and pwr is the fifth.

not sure what you mean, horizontally, as there is only 1 unused pin, where I've shown it (the bottom PWR). There are no other unused pins sticking out.

On the bottom row of pins plug into 4 & 5. The other pin you can't see because it's under the cable in the top row in position 4.
