Check out this link.  ClearScreenPlayer is adware.  My advice is to uninstall/remove it.

Have a great day.

Yes my link does contain removal instructions.  Either AdwCleaner or Malwarebytes Anti-Malware will remove this adware.

Glad to be of assistance.  Have a great day.

Apparently this little PUP has grown smarter. It has embedded itself into a friends laptop and cannot be removed through Windows Uninstall programs... shows it! But gives a message that the network location is not available to unload it.

This Laptop has never been hooked to a network.

Neither of these suggested programs removed it:

AdwCleaner or Malwarebytes Anti-Malware

nor SuperAntiSpyware, Zemana nor JRT.

Any suggestions?

Dicedawg:

I see that you have opened a thread today in the Bleeping Computer Virus, Trojan, Spyware and Malware Removal Logs Forum, to be found at this link, in addition to "hijacking" this old thread.

May I respectfully suggest that you follow the advice, particularly Step :step6:, to be found at this link, and provide FRST logs from your friend's laptop?  This will enable a qualified Malware Response Team member to determine what malware is resident on your friend's computer and deal with it.

Thank you and have a great day.

-Phil

My apologies Garioch7,

Thought I had done a thorough search on the Clearscreen player issue, most of what I found were very simple uninstall resolutions. I thought they were closed.

I'll follow your direction

Kent
