When I open hijackthis, miscellaneous tools, "delete a file on reboot", the program closes. Any thoughts on this?
I've downloaded two different copies.
Thank you,
steverdee

I'm not sure what you're asking here.

Are you familiar with how HijackThis works? what are you trying to remove on "reboot"?

HijackThis! has only one program...yet you say you downloaded two different copies. Maybe we aren't talking about the same program, because I don't know of one called Hacthis

Hi Jacee:
Sorry for the confusion, thanks for the prompt relpy
I have picked up the trojan related to "winmqx32.dll"
I was following the instructions for removining the file, posted on this site.
I downloaded hijackthis from two different sources, in case I got a bad copy.
Both times, when I followed these instructions:
"open hijackthis, click 'config' (bottom right)
Choose the tab 'misc tools' on top.
Choose 'delete file on reboot'....

-at this pont, the program shut down!
So, what do you think the problem is?
I can post a hjt log, if it will help
Thanx

steverdee, what you're trying to do, won't work the way you're going about it.

Follow all of the instructions in this link:

Post your HJT log in the HJT Forum, Not in this one. One of our HJT Team members will help you get rid of the malware :flowers:
