So I've recently encountered the infinite boot loop on my Acer laptop running Windows 7. The weird thing is that it won't allow me to get into system repair. I've tried it and it's incredibly slow. Only once that the options loaded and when I finally clicked boot repair it just sat there for hours with a progress bar going back and fourth. I've pressed F8 and attempted entering in safe mode, last known successful boot, noting get works. Hoping someone here with a little more knowhow can help.

Thank you in advance,
Raid

What is the make and model of this computer?

Do you have a installation disc for this version of Windows 7?

This is a OEM computer, so it did come with the operating system installed.

If you do have the installation disc for this version of Windows you would be able to use it to access the System Recovery Options.  One of these is the Startup Repair which may resolve this problem.

I will look for the disk but I have tried the start up repair. I Let it run for over 24hrs but the progress bar just kept going back and fourth... is it a better function with the windows cd?

If there is file corruption using the installation disc may be able to run the Startup Repair.

I can't find the disk unfortunately. Is there any other course of action?

Open the Disk Management and see if there is a recovery partition listed.
