At most hotspots I'm able to connect to the internet with my laptop pc just fine, but at my favorite coffeeshop, I'm unable. When I try, it just says "connection unsuccessful" or something similar. This coffeeshop's wifi isn't even password-protected. As far as I know, the only firewall on my laptop is the AVG which was installed when I purchased the pc. I should know for sure what firewall/antivirus software I have, but I just let my trusted dealer set it up for me since I don't know much about pc's. I tried turning the firewall off but still couldn't connect. Any suggestions?

I tried the "network troubleshooting" feature but it didn't work.
