I work in an enterprise environment and want to setup a block here at work. Question is, are there any worthwhile tools that are free that can be used in an enterprise type environment? Don't want to get penalized etc...

Kaspersky released a tool specifically for that purpose Kaspersky Anti-Ransomware Tool for Business.

Though I haven't tested it personally, so I cannot tell you whether it is good or not. Also, in an entreprise environment, you should take other measures to prevent and/or defend yourself against Ransomware infections like back-up, email filtering, restricted web access, firewall, Antivirus with good behavior blocking and/or Anti-Ransomware technology, etc. Installing dozen of different products for different purposes is counter-productive in an entreprise environment.
