I've read that UMonit.exe is a non-intensive USB monitoring program that will alert you when a USB device has just been plugged into your PC.  However, on my Toshiba L775 laptop, the process  is shown as using 49-51% of my CPU time continuously within Task Manager and has often brought my PC down to it's knees.  After stopping the process my PC is free to breathe again.  The exe file is not located within the "Startup" folder.  Does anyone know how to uninstall or remove this?

Thanks, scotpie

I have read that UMonit.exe can be a sign of an infection.
