I am having an issue with my ethernet port on a Dell Micro PC 3050.  It always shows as unplugged.  The thing is a little over a year , just out of warranty.

Here are things I have tried:

1.  Multiple network cables

2.  Multiple ports on router and direct to ATT gateway.

3.  Updated driver from Realtek, then rolledback driver

4.  Plugged in ethernet usb dongle into usb port and it worked , using same source cable

5.  Also tried to change to half duplex in driver properties

5.  Rebooted several times

Any suggestions?   Is there a way to know for sure if it is bad, I am assuming it is baked into motherboard so not replaceable.

No.   It is not recognized.   It is always listed as unplugged.

Please download MiniToolBox  , save it to your desktop and run it.

Checkmark the following checkboxes:
List last 10 Event Viewer log
  List Installed Programs
List Users, Partitions and Memory size.

Click Go and paste the content into your next post.

Also...please Publish a Snapshot using Speccy taking care to post the link of the snapshot in your next post.

Go to Piriform's website, and download the free version on the left.  Click Download from Piriform.com (the FileHippo link requires an extra click). Or if you want to use a portable version of Speccy (which doesn't require installation), click the builds page link and download the portable version. You will now be asked where you want to save the file. The best place to put it is the Desktop, as it will be easy to find later.

After the file finishes downloading, you are ready to run Speccy. If you downloaded the installer, simply double-click on it and follow the prompts until installation is complete. If you downloaded the portable version, you will need to unzip it before use. Right-click the ZIP file and click Extract all. Click Next. Open up the extracted folder and double-click on Speccy.

Once inside Speccy, it will look similar to this (with your computer's specifications, of course): p22004369.gif

Now, at the top, click File > Publish Snapshot. You will see the following prompt:

p22004371.gif

Click Yes > then Copy to Clipboard

p22004372.gif

Now, once you are back in the forum topic you are posting in, click the p22004370.gif button. Right-click in the empty space of the Reply box and click Paste. Then, click Add Reply below the Reply box.

Did you download the driver from Realtek's own site? Is there a yellow exclamation mark next to the Realtek adapter in Device Manager?

I am not sure how one would resolve the conflict. Are any errors shown under the IRQ section?

Did the computer come installed with Windows 10 or was it an upgrade? If an upgrade did the Ethernet problem occur just after the upgrade? You may need to use the USB to Ethernet adapter as a workaround.

One thing you can try is to uninstall the Ethernet adapter in Device Manager. Click on the upper most point of the tree, your PC, and select Action > Scan for Hardware Changes. This should detect the adapter and reinstall the driver. I would create a restore point before attempting this though.

So it started working.  Trying to move it from original location to another, could not get display to work in other location (not sure why) moved it back, origina connected l display works without issue and ethernet adapter worked too .   Two guesses, a usb device I did not reconnect, or the unplug from power did something.    Will see if issue when I reconnect usb devices.

\

Oh, toitally forgot, also downloaded the realtek diagnostic utility and during issue only test passed was register, other 3 failed.   But I used it to modify some settings (same as avail in advanced on properties from device mgr)  Turned off green Ethernet and energy efficient.   Not sure if moving pc around was first time rebooting since changes.
