Just did a basic google search and I got a page that says "Our systems have detected unusual traffic from your computer"

It shows a CAPTCHA.

This is first time I've come across something like this.

Any reason why ??

This is my home PC.

Did you follow the suggestions for handling this?

It's routine enough that Google has a set spiel on it...that tells me that I would not panic or infer something that is not.

Every time I do an in-depth search using Google I eventually get that "unusual activity" message and the captcha - but it takes it a bit to appear and is then fond of showing up again every few search iterations.

Google just thinks in-depth must be a bot doing it.
