Hi, sorry bit of a noob but I just bought a 2k monitor that I plugged on my asus n73sv laptop via HDMI. It has a gforce GT 540m and should be able to display 2560x1600.

When I connected the monitor the max default offered was 1920x1080 so I set a custom resolution to 2560x1440 59hz.

All was working but now if I turn the laptop on while HDMI is connected, I end up with 2 black screens and have to disconnect the HDMI, restart the laptop and then reconnect the external monitor
