Hello,

Can't seem to fix this error, at first the computer would BSOD as soon as user logs in. It first showed up when trying to update to Windows 8.1 from Windows 8. Could not successfully do a system restore. So, tried updating to Windows 10, it still crashes but not immediately after logging in.

It will always crash immediately after I do scan hardware within device manager. Or if I use speccy to gather information on system.

Event Viewer shows bugcheck 0x0000000a and another error: The device, \Device\Ide\iaStor0, did not respond within the timeout period.

Looking at debug outputs I've seen either usbccgp.sys or memory corruption mentioned. I also thought it might be the card reader.

I've tried to get updated drivers from gateway's website with no luck.

Any help would be appreciated.

I apologize for the delay in responding.

Your UEFI/BIOS (version 841P091G) dates from 2008.  Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any UEFI/BIOS updates available for your system.  If you are able to install the update through Windows (without booting from an external drive), then go ahead and update it.  WARNING - if the computer might shut down during this procedure, please don't do it, as this may physically damage the computer and prevent it from booting.
FYI - W8 and W10 communicate more with the UEFI/BIOS than previous versions of Windows, so it's important to ensure that the UEFI/BIOS is kept up to date (and that outdated UEFI/BIOS' may be the cause of some compatibility issues).

I am very concerned that, due to the age of the BIOS, you may end up finding that the system just won't work properly w/W10.  Unfortunately, the only way to rule out these sort of compatibility problems is to revert to the original OS and see if everything works normally there.

This device is disabled in Device Manager:

Realtek USB 2.0 Card Reader    USB\VID_0A48&PID_3302&MI_00\6&162EB83C&1&0000    This device is disabled.

Please enable it and then update it to the latest, W10 compatible drivers.  Than, after updating it, you can feel free to disable it again.

I noted some USB issues in the dump files, please read on to see if they might be related to this device.  If so, the best thing is to physically disconnect if from the motherboard.

The last 3 memory dumps are custom dumps related to the Intel components in your system (most likely the storage controller drivers).

Please download/install the latest, W10 compatible drivers for the Intel Rapid Storage Technology (RST) drivers - along with the Intel chipset, Management Engine Interface (MEI) and other Intel drivers for your system.

If W10 compatible drivers aren't available, I'd again have to wonder about the compatibility of this system with W10.

The remaining BSOD's blame a Windows USB driver - so the question to ask is "What USB devices are connected to your system?"
This would include things that are connected to the USB ports on your system.
This includes the outer, visible ports and the internal ports for things like the USB card reader.
Were there any changes to the BSOD's when you disabled the USB card reader (If they were related)?

Please note that your Intel Rapid Storage Technology drivers, your Realtek Audio drivers, and your Realtek Card Reader drivers all date from 2008.

This suggests that they might have compatibility problems with an OS that was initially released in 2015.  Please update them immediately.

You may have to try drivers from the Intel Download Center ( https://downloadcenter.intel.com/ ) and the Realtek download site (  http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/ ), rather than from the Gateway support site for your system.
