Hey guys, I reinstalled win7 on this old pc which had a lot of viruses and installed the updates. Seems ok going through different sites on the net, issue I am seeing is youtube videos freezing and showing choppy. This is the mobo, I am not seeing a model number for this pc anywhere: https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/P5GCMX/

I found a VGA driver here and I am guessing that is the correct driver? https://www.asus.com/support/Download/1/22/39/6/PYvbfOokwxUzJky3/29/

Anyway so when I tried installing that driver I am getting a prompt showing "This computer currently contains a driver version which is newer......"

Any ideas please?

Please download MiniToolBox  , save it to your desktop and run it.

Checkmark the following checkboxes:
List last 10 Event Viewer log
  List Installed Programs
List Users, Partitions and Memory size.

Click Go and paste the content into your next post.

Also...please Publish a Snapshot using Speccy taking care to post the link of the snapshot in your next post.

Go to Piriform's website, and download the free version on the left.  Click Download from Piriform.com (the FileHippo link requires an extra click). Or if you want to use a portable version of Speccy (which doesn't require installation), click the builds page link and download the portable version. You will now be asked where you want to save the file. The best place to put it is the Desktop, as it will be easy to find later.

After the file finishes downloading, you are ready to run Speccy. If you downloaded the installer, simply double-click on it and follow the prompts until installation is complete. If you downloaded the portable version, you will need to unzip it before use. Right-click the ZIP file and click Extract all. Click Next. Open up the extracted folder and double-click on Speccy.

Once inside Speccy, it will look similar to this (with your computer's specifications, of course): p22004369.gif

Now, at the top, click File > Publish Snapshot. You will see the following prompt:

p22004371.gif

Click Yes > then Copy to Clipboard

p22004372.gif

Now, once you are back in the forum topic you are posting in, click the p22004370.gif button. Right-click in the empty space of the Reply box and click Paste. Then, click Add Reply below the Reply box.

It looks like you have the correct driver for that chipset. Have you tried setting youtube to run using HTML 5?

https://www.youtube.com/html5

Have you downloaded the latest flash driver for your browser?

The HTML5 player will bypass flash if the browser supports it. If there was no improvement then download the intel driver for the chipset. Uninstall the graphics driver if listed in Control Panel. Did this computer originally come with Vista? The computer may not have enough power for Windows 7 and video.

As you can see from the cpu benchmark the processor is on the low end.

No graphics driver is listed in the DM. Owner just confirmed that he did have this issue with youtube ever since installing and since he uses youtube a lot I can go with vista or xp. So, if this issue cannot be fixed, how would I know which OS came with it [vista or xp] since no model number to work with?

From your first link on the motherboard there are no Windows 7 drivers listed. Do I assume Vista was the last supported OS for that MB. The second link you provide was for a different mohterboard, the P5GC-MX/1333.

Also see the OS compatibility listing here.

https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/P5GCMX/specifications/

Edit: This doesn't mean to say that Windows 7 will not work.

Remember, Vista will no longer be supported with Security Updates after April of 2017.

Thanks, will do so in a little while. I am not satisfied with the way the pc is working, I am starting to suspect hard drive.

Your SMART data for the hard drive doesn't indicate any problems that I can recognize...there are no hard drive errors reflected in the Event Viewer data submitted.

You do have a Windows Update problem...but so do I and many others :).
