I just did something I seldom do, posted a new topic without doing a forum search first.  So, I decided to try to do one afterward to see if I had perhaps made a mistake in posting.

The post is on the Ransomware Help & Tech Support forum and is the thread entitled, nomoreransom.org.

If I enter "nomoreransom.org" either enclosed in quotation marks or without them in the search box the search is stripping out the dot from the search string, which is really not useful in this case.  I've never dealt with a search engine that does this before nor that requires escaping of the dot character, but I'm presuming this one does.  If that's the case, what is the escape character that's needed prior to a dot in order to force it to be kept as an integral part of the search string?

This was the "best fit" I could find as far as a forum for asking this since it doesn't seem to fit elsewhere.

It's the case with every forums running IPS. I also noticed the same thing on GeeksToGo (which runs on IPS). When I need to search a term with dots and/or other special characters, I just use Google dorks.

Aura,

Thanks for the feedback.  This is certainly a bug, not a feature, particularly where technology forums are concerned simply because one could have frequent need to search on web addresses.  I don't know how this could ever have passed alpha testing, not to mention beta testing, when under development!
