Somebody told me that Windows 7 ie will not be updated anymore. Is this true?

Extended support for Win 7 ends 14th January 2020.


Mainstream support for Win 7  ended on January 13, 2015. which just means it won't get any new products or tweaks, but will still get security hotfixes and patches.
