I updated my laptop to Windows 10 (w/ anniversary updated) from Windows 7.  The USB mouse works, but the keyboard and touch pad doesn't.  The top row keys, such as wi-fi, work.  I have tried uninstalling the keyboard driver and rebooting to get a refresh of it.  So far, the only way I can type on it is with the on-screen keyboard, whose icon appears in the lower right corner on startup.

The only way I get keyboard function back is by booting into safemode.  (Which I am currently using to type this message.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do a clean boot in Windows 10. Does the keyboard work? If it does then you will need to start enabling services and startup items a few at a time until the keyboard no longer functions to determine which process is causing the problem.
