My mother used it without issue for two years, until I steered her to something free to spare her the expense; I am now at her mercy via Teamviewer for any slight issue for apparently the rest of our lives. :)

Webroot is a trusted and reputable security vendor which has been around for a long time. However, not many of our members use it so you may not get a lot of replies.

No, I have never used Webroot but definitely would consider it if ESET and Emsisoft when out of business.

Not a problem...I am here to help. My area of expertise is general computer security and malware removal.

I am retired and the only field I work in nowadays is mowing my property.

I have been using and managing webroot for a few years now and it appears to be fine mate.

As with any AV, they will never bee 100% safe at any given time but webroot is a really small light weight package that doesnt rely on downloading signatures and storing them locally and needs to be connected to the net.

About the only thing i dont like is the web shield it uses as it contains a lot of false positives but if i change it will be to ESET.

i have been using ESET for 10 years maybe now at home and its been the best so far. I have not looked to see if they do but if ESET had a cloud based command center then i would be temped to move from webroot to ESET because i can get on the phone to eset with in minutes where as webroot want you to use a forum to submit tickets!

Johnnyjammer: have you ever tried EAM anti virus program. I heard it is really good.
Johnny what is a cloud based command center. Also what is submitting tickets.
From what I read and what people tell me ESET and EAM seem to be the best anti virus programs on the market.

Submitting tickets is a common method of receiving help and support. Typically you fill out a form expanding the issue, give it a priority status and send it to the IT support folks. They assign a ticket number to track the issue until it is resolved...then they close the ticket.

Webroot: Open a Support Ticket
