Just joined today! Have to say I've felt like doing more than just calling my computer "bleeping" names. Got more time on my hands since I officially "retired" in July (meaning--after having worked for 40 years--I haven't yet figured out what I'm going to do with the NEXT 40). Thought I would BLOG (like I'd just get some "app" and start doing it.....!) Holy crap, what a crazy mess out there--especially for some body like me who wants to send "Help" emails just to figure out the terms they use in the instructions for things! (Like I sent an email to the 'contact us' part of this site because I didn't originally see any way of posting my own comments!)

Reason I joined: My "laptop" (actually a cheapy Chromebook thing) froze up with a big official-looking message from "Microsoft" saying I had "massive errors" because of Malware. (darn porn sites....just kidding....I hope...!)  I actually CALLED the number and sure enough, they wanted me to spend money (they were going to give me a senior discount (!) so it would only be $250 (!!!). I hung up quick and checked them out--sure enough it was one of those scams. Thing is, I tried downloading SpyHunter 4 but didn't like THEM either!

(I have a Lenovo 100S Chromebook--does it even have enough memory to download lots of software????)

Anyway, here i am--hoping this "Community" will help me on my Quest to be Less Dumb about all this online stuff.
