I have a acer laptop, and It started getting the BSOD,so after trying other things inculding Mem 88 and win mem checks.I started not starting when I pressed the on button,So I removed the bottom cover ( this laptop its the way to the battery)and disconnected the battery, and it started right up.So I figured the BSOD was becuase a bad battery.and I ordered another battery.I plugged in the new battery and back to the same issue of it not starting when the battery is plugged in.So I have read of starting the computer then plugging the battery in,but the issue with that plan is the on button is on the case that you remove to get to the battery, and the power plug.so it has to be together to turn on.

So my first question is how,why cant I start the computer with the battery plugged in,and how do Fix the issue?

and By the way the BSOD still happens without the battery connected.

I'm wondering if the circuitry "before and after" the battery may be problematic.  Sometimes a refreshing of the connections is all that's needed, often the problem is not fixed by refreshing the connections.

Try powercycling the computer. Detach the main battery and power adapter. Replace the cover and hold the power button down for 30 seconds. Reattach the battery and cover. Try booting with the new battery but not with the power adapter attached. I assume the battery is charging. Did you charge the battery overnight before attempting to boot?

I think what RolandJS means by refreshing connections is to detach and reattach any cable connections.

I should have used those words from the beginning  :)

Absolutely, in fact, it will charge faster if the laptop is off.

I would try that, but in acers wisdom, the on/off button are on the bottom cover, and the power cord goes through the bottom cover. The power cord I can by-pass the cover. but the on button has to be in place (that I can figure) to turn on.

Reset the BIOS settings to its factory default settings from BIOS setup utility.
I would ask you to install latest version of the BIOS firmware but i have to warn you Upgrading your system BIOS incorrectly could harm your Acer, if done wrongly it will make your laptop stop working at all.
Follow my instructions at below tutorial link.
