Hi humpi,

You have a number of infections and you will need to be in Safe Mode for part of the removal process.
You will not have access to the Internet whilst you are running in Safe Mode so it may be better for you
if you printed the instructions before you start the fix. Please read all of the instructions first.

You are running HijackThis from a sub folder of a temporary folder. When run from there, the backups HijackThis
makes may accidentally get deleted, so please put HijackThis into a permanent folder.
Full instructions on how to do this can be found here:Detailed Explanation
Brief instructions to create a permanent folder are:
  • Click My Computer, then C:\
  • In the menu bar, File->New->Folder.
  • That will create a folder named New Folder, which you can rename to "HJT" or "HijackThis".
  • Now you have C:\HJT\ folder.
  • Put your HijackThis.exe there.
Please download LSP-Fix from the following link and save it to a location you can find later if necessary.

LSP-Fix Download Link

Please go to Start >>> Control Panel >>> Add or Remove Programs and remove the following programs. You may not find some of the programs.
  • New.net Application or New.net Domains If you can't find it in the Add/Remove facility, then please go here and follow the removal instructions in Procedure 4 at the bottom of the page.
  • WinTools
  • MSIETS
  • Internet 404 If present will require Internet connection
  • Tools for Internet Explorer If present will require Internet connection
Reboot your machine in normal mode and check for Internet access. If you can not connect to the Internet after removing New.net, please run the LSP-Fix program I had you download earlier, and click on the finish button. Reboot and you should be able to get back on.

Please restart you machine in Safe Mode:
  • Reboot your computer
  • As the machine starts, continually tap the F8 key
  • You will then be presented with a menu screen
  • Use the the up/down arrow keys to select Safe Mode
  • Presss the Enter key to boot in that mode.
Run HijackThis
Click on the Scan button and when complete
Put a check beside all of the items listed belowO2 - BHO: URLLink Class - {4A2AACF3-ADF6-11D5-98A9-00E018981B9E} - C:\Programme\NewDotNet\newdotnet6_38.dll

O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [WinTools] C:\PROGRA~1\GEMEIN~1\WinTools\WToolsA.exe /boot

Close all open Explorer windows and browsers
Click on the "Fix Checked" button
When complete and all files removed, close the application

Please make sure that you can view all hidden files. Instructions on how to do this can be found here:
How to see hidden files in Windows

If you are not running in safe mode reboot your computer into Safe Mode.

Please delete the following files or folders (delete item in bold). Please do not be concerned if
any of the items are not found as they may have been automatically removed by actions I had
you take earlier in the cleaning process.C:\Programme\NewDotNet

Reboot your machine in normal mode, run HijackThis and post a new log here for review.

Hi humpi,

I'm glad you have got things sorted and found your password. Since your original post there has been a new release of HijackThis. It would be advisable for you to download the latest version and post a fresh log here for me to look at.

Please download the newer version. Download HijackThis from: HijackThis Download Site. Run the new version and post a new log here for review.

Hi humpi,

Thanks for running the new version of HijackThis. Well done, your log is clean!! I'm seeing some Symantec stuff in your log and wondering if you had uninstalled it and perhaps the removal process hadn't worked fully.
This one O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [NAV CfgWiz] .... is reported as being a real resource hog so, if you're not using it, and you want it looking at then let me know.

I know you have some of the prevention/removal software already installed however, I have itemized below my full list of prevention and removal measures that will best ensure that your machine stays clean.

Please take the time to review the list and implement any of the software or settings that you don't have already.
  • Disable and Enable System Restore. - If you are using Windows ME or XP then you should disable and reenable system restore to make sure there are no infected files found in a restore point. You can find instructions on how to enable and reenable system restore here:Renable system restore with instructions from tutorial above.

  • Make your Internet Explorer more secure - This can be done by following these simple instructions:
    • From within Internet Explorer click on the Tools menu and then click on Options.
    • Click once on the Security tab
    • Click once on the Internet icon so it becomes highlighted.
    • Click once on the Custom Level button.
      • Change the Download signed ActiveX controls to Prompt
      • Change the Download unsigned ActiveX controls to Disable
      • Change the Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe to Disable
      • Change the Installation of desktop items to Prompt
      • Change the Launching programs and files in an IFRAME to Prompt
      • Change the Navigate sub-frames across different domains to Prompt
      • When all these settings have been made, click on the OK button.
      • If it prompts you as to whether or not you want to save the settings, press the Yes button.
    • Next press the Apply button and then the OK to exit the Internet Properties page.
  • Use an AntiVirus Software - It is very important that your computer has an anti-virus software running on your machine. This alone can save you a lot of trouble with malware in the future.
See this link for a listing of some online & their stand-alone antivirus programs:Virus, Spyware, and Malware Protection and Removal Resources
  • Update your AntiVirus Software - It is imperative that you update your Antivirus software at least once a week (Even more if you wish). If you do not update your antivirus software then it will not be able to catch any of the new variants that may come out.

  • Use a Firewall - I can not stress how important it is that you use a Firewall on your computer. Without a firewall your computer is susceptible to being hacked and taken over. I am very serious about this and see it happen almost every day with my clients. Simply using a Firewall in its default configuration can lower your risk greatly.
For a tutorial on Firewalls and a listing of some available ones see the link below:Understanding and Using Firewalls
  • Visit Microsoft's Windows Update Site Frequently - It is important that you visit Windows Update Site regularly. This will ensure your computer has always the latest security updates available installed on your computer. If there are new updates to install, install them immediately, reboot your computer, and revisit the site until there are no more critical updates.

  • Install Spybot - Search and Destroy - Install and download Spybot - Search and Destroy with its TeaTimer option. This will provide realtime spyware & hijacker protection on your computer alongside your virus protection. You should also scan your computer with program on a regular basis just as you would an antivirus software.
A tutorial on installing & using this product can be found here:Using Spybot - Search & Destroy to remove Spyware , Malware, and Hijackers
  • Install Ad-Aware - Install and download Ad-Aware. You should also scan your computer with program on a regular basis just as you would an antivirus software in conjunction with Spybot.
A tutorial on installing & using this product can be found here:Using Ad-aware to remove Spyware, Malware, & Hijackers from Your Computer
  • Install SpywareBlaster - SpywareBlaster will added a large list of programs and sites into your Internet Explorer settings that will protect you from running and downloading known malicious programs.
A tutorial on installing & using this product can be found here:Using SpywareBlaster to protect your computer from Spyware and Malware
  • Update all these programs regularly - Make sure you update all the programs I have listed regularly. Without regular updates you WILL NOT be protected when new malicious programs are released.
Follow this list and your potential for being infected again will reduce dramatically.
