I've tried you advice on your forum. Including Adaware, Spybot, and stinger.
My own virus checker tells me I have the W32/Dialer.TCS-behavior!Maximus virus, which keeps putting .exe files in my temp but is unable to delete them!

examples of these files include:
temp/win2D.temp.exe
temp/win25.tmp.exe
temp/win27.tmp.exe
windows/temp/win1B.tmp.exe
windows/temp/win
windows/temp/win
windows/temp/win83.tmp.exe

Here is my HijackThis log:

  • Once in the Settings screen click on "Recommended actions" and then select "Quarantine".
  • Under "Reports"
    • Select "Automatically generate report after every scan"
    • Un-Select "Only if threats were found"
Close Ewido anti-spyware. Do not run a scan just yet. We will shortly.

Yeah...it's not gone yet. If everything was fixable in just one step, it'd be a lot quieter here.

Download KillBox and unzip it to your desktop.

Open Killbox and select the Delete on reboot option.
Copy and paste the following file to the field labeled "Full path of file to delete"

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\winmmt32.dll

Press the Delete button (the button that looks like a red circle with a white X in it).
A first dialog box will ask if you want to delete the file on reboot, press the YES button.
A second dialog box will ask you if you want to REBOOT now. Press the YES button.

Your computer will reboot.

=========

Clean your Cache and Cookies in IE:
  • Close all instances of Outlook Express and Internet Explorer
  • Go to Control Panel > Internet Options > General tab
  • Click the "Delete Cookies" button
  • Next to it, Click the "Delete Files" button
  • When prompted, place a check in: "Delete all offline content", click OK
* Clean your Cache and Cookies in Firefox (In case you also have Firefox installed):
  • Go to Tools > Options.
  • Click Privacy in the menu on the left side of the Options window.
  • Click the Clear button located to the right of each option (History, Cookies, Cache).
  • Click OK to close the Options window
Alternatively, you can clear all information stored while browsing by clicking Clear All.
A confirmation dialog box will be shown before clearing the information.
* Clean other Temporary files + Recycle bin
  • Go to start > run and type: cleanmgr and click ok.
  • Let it scan your system for files to remove.
  • Make sure Temporary Files, Temporary Internet Files, and Recycle Bin are the only things checked.
  • Press OK to remove them.
===========

Run Hijackthis again, click scan, and Put a checkmark next to each of the lines listed below. Then close all other windows--you should only see HijackThis on your Desktop--and click the Fix Checked button.

O20 - Winlogon Notify: winmmt32 - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\winmmt32.dll <-- may say (file missing)

Reboot and post a new hijackthis log.
