I know there have been posts about it before, but they're from 2012. I just wanted to double-check that it is safe considering I downloaded a zip file of MessenPass and during the download, it was stopped because a virus was detected. On their website, it says false positives happen. In this case, my computer also said malware was found and being removed right after downloading it. Can anyone confirm it's safe?

Hi harbaras :)

NirSoft utilities are safe if you download them from the official website and use them on your own. Most of them will be flagged as malicious and/or "HackTools" because they can (and are) bundled with some malware due to what they do and can be used for. A few data stealing trojans will use NirSoft Mail PassView utility for instance to grab your mail-related passwords.
