Not sure if this belonged in this forum, security or another.

Some software manufacturers promote their products by offering them for free for one day (no tech support) at the giveaweayoftheday website.
Have been downloading occasionally with no issues.
Then I installed KIS- it does not allow the app to install.
Online searches seem to confirm this:
https://www.google.com/#q=giveawayoftheday+kaspersky

One link even suggests a hijacker is used in the wrapping.

Tried turning off KIS (probably unwise)- same results. No other security app presents this problem.

Anyone familiar with the issue and know of a solution (aside from dropping KIS)?

Thanks

Installing gaotd programs which are wrapped is a chore.

You have to install it in safe mode with networking as disabling kis doesn't work

Thanks for the 'heads up' on using Safe Mode.

If that's the case,it is certainly would have to be a VERY worthwhile offer.

Thanks again.
