On Vista the icon running in the TaskBar would show something like

"Connected to SPARK 688FHGKS"

In 8.1 I can't find this identity tag that shows my label or labels of any other nearby networks.....

If you are referring to the connections title you can find this in the Control Panel under Network and Sharing Center.

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.
