Asus x54C model can't get to boot menu or bios

Hey guys, looking at this here: https://kb.wisc.edu/showroom/page.php?id=58779

 

I have tried all keys showing F2, F9, F8, Delete, ESC but nothing works, help?

What do you see?

 

Anything at all on screen, or is it just black?

No, it's going to windows all the time, I can get into safe mode but not the boot menu or bios

It makes no sense that you cannot access the BIOS...but you can get into safe mode.  Please double-check that.  Temporarily disconnect the hard drive and boot the system, then try to enter the BIOS.

You did not answer the implied question...can you boot into the BIOS?

 

Did you try what I previously suggested about booting into the BIOS (disconnecting the hard drive)?

When i tried that the first time it did not work but I tried it again this morning and now it is working, thanks guys!

But another problem now, when it is booting off the cd and after it shows the windows is loading files, just before it should go to the SETUP screen,it keeps retarting, bad hard drive maybe?
