Just installed the updates for the September 2016 Patch Tuesday updates and noticed that launch execs from a Start Menu search are not working properly?

For example, in the past I could type cmd in the search field and then press enter to automatically launch the first search result, which is cmd.exe.

This no longer seems to work. Anyone else having the same issues?

It is like enter is not defaulting to execute the first search result like it used to.

I am not having those problems on any of my Windows 7 computers, but I have sporadically seen that symptom on other Windows 7 computers. I saw those symptoms however, last year so I am not sure what would cause it.

I haven't seen that happen like that before. If you want, I will post the KB numbers of the patches I recently installed on my Windows 7 computer so you can compare with the KBs you recently installed.

Reboot fixed it. Should have taken the advice I give everyone when first dealing with Windows problems :)

Thanks for the help.
