I like to listen to music on YouTube while I'm doing other things. How can I keep YouTube playing after I switch tabs? Whenever I open a new tab the music stops.

What Browser are you using ? then others may be able to assist you further if needed.

You could eg: Open Web browser / Youtube / Play Music / then minimise that Tab to tray , then just open a New Webpage and cont as normal.

* You can right Click any Link , and select open in New Tab , then last Tab will always be Open etc.

I use Firefox and as long as I just minimize the tab...the music continues.

Any browser supports multiple windows/tabs, I should think.

Did you by chance have your browser to open a new tab in the existing open tab?  My search function used to do that, I would type something in the address bar and Search would cough up the results in the currently open tab; I "told" the browser any new tab request and any search request would open a new tab, and leave the other open tab[s] alone.
