I dual boot with WIN 8.1, obviously and Ubuntu 14.04 LTS and on shutdown these effects may happen.

Reboot after 2 to 3 seconds.

Reboot after a longer period.

Reboot several times.after startup and shutdown

Stay shutdown.

This behavior  defies reason and is totally illogical.
