Hello all. I was desperate to get my microsoft office activated and didn't want to pay $150 or more to have a license so I seen that there was a program called kmspico that will "activate" it for you for free....Well, I feel really stupid admitting this...I did research it before I even considered downloading it...As soon as it said "turn of antivirus before downloading" I should have known it was a big NO NO. So, stupid me did that, (turned the AV off) and downloaded it..Well, as it was downloading I noticed it trying to install some crazy malware or possible viruses. So, I hit "cancel" but some stuff got installed anyways =( I ran Avast, malwarebytes, and superantispyware. I did the "complete" scan of the computer on all. On Avast I even did a boot scan and it removed a crap load of crap. I even went in and manually removed stuff that was there through uninstall programs. So, now when I startup my computer I get this DLL error which I will post. The computer overall, seems to be acting, fine, except for when I boot up as I said that error pops up. I was really, truly, hoping I have no choice but ti wipe my computer ans start over... And no, I did not do a restore point which I should have before installing all that junk! I posted my logs in the area of the forum for logs. If you guys need to see them let me know and I will post the link to my post. Thank you everyone, I feel like such an idiot for doing it!! Oh, and kmspico if given the right link to the download, it is "clean" because I did find the REAL version that is clean after downloading and trying to get rid of that junk. Who knows what I was downloading if it was even real or just plain spyware/malware/viruses. Forgot to add I'm on Windows 10!

Now that you have posted a log here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/626344/got-infected-trying-to-download-kmspico-to-activate-microsoft-office/ you should NOT make further changes to your computer (install/uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc) unless advised by a MRT Team member, nor should you ask for help elsewhere. Doing so can result in system changes which may not show in the log you already posted. Further, any modifications you make on your own may cause confusion for the helper assisting you and could complicate the malware removal process which would extend the time it takes to clean your computer.

From this point on the MRT Team should be the only members that you take advice from, until they have verified your log as clean.

Please be patient. It may take a while to get a response because the MRT Team members are EXTREMELY busy working logs posted before yours. They are volunteers who will help you out as soon as possible. Once you have made your post and are waiting, please DO NOT make another reply until it has been responded to by a member of the MRT Team. Generally the staff checks the forum for postings that have 0 replies as this makes it easier for them to identify those who have not been helped. If you post another response there will be 1 reply. A team member, looking for a new log to work may assume another MRT Team member is already assisting you and not open the thread to respond.

Please be patient. It may take several days to get a response but your log will be reviewed and answered as soon as possible. I advise checking your topic once a day for responses as the e-mail notification system is unreliable.

If HelpBot replies to your topic, PLEASE follow Step One so it will report your topic to the team members.

To avoid confusion, I am closing this topic and your other one in the Windows 10 forum. Good luck with your log.
