Hi

! This is very important !: Update your Windows. Doing this will make your computer more secure. Please visit Windows Update (follow this link: http://www.windowsupdate.com) to update Windows. Follow the instructions on the screen. You may have to visit more then once Windows Update to install all updates.
Not updating Windows will leave your computer vulnerable to malware and attacks.

Install Service Pack 1 and all critical updates.

After the installation of the last update make sure you REBOOT the computer, run HijackThis again and post a new log please.
Everyday is virus day. Do you know where your recovery CDs are ?
Did you create them yet ?

Hi

You are running HijackThis from a temp folder. You will need to move hijackthis.exe to a permanent folder, such as c:\hjt . This has to be done as HijackThis creates backups when you fix items. These backups could easily get deleted in a temporary folder.

First create a new folder:
A. Click My Computer icon on your desktop
B. Click C: drive
C. Click the File menu --> New --> Folder, a folder "New folder" will be created.
D. Rename it HJT

Unzip hijackthis.exe to the c:\HJT folder.

We don't normally recommend running two antivirus programs together. The program I am going to tell you to install has been successful removing this particular variant in the past.

Could you disable <whatever installed Antivirus> for now and go here to download the free version of Grisoft's AVG AntiVirus program.

Install the program, check for updates and scan your system allowing it to remove whatever it finds.

Download KillBox here: KillBox. Unzip it to your desktop.

Start Killbox.exe

Select the Delete on reboot option.

Copy and paste each of the following file(s) to the address bar:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\winlogin.exe

C:\WINDOWS\System32\wipg9eze8fcs.dll.dll

After each file press the Delete button (the button that looks like a red circle with a white X in it).

A dialog box will ask if you want to delete and reboot now - on all but the last file, answer No
For the last file (or first, if only one file), answer Yes

On restart, verify that the files have been deleted.

Run HijackThis!, press Scan, and put a check mark next to all these:

O4 - Global Startup: winlogin.exe

O20 - AppInit_DLLs: wipg9eze8fcs.dll.dll

Close all other windows and browsers, and press the Fix Checked button.

REBOOT and post a new log please.

Good Morning
i have done as you instructed, couldn't find O4 - Global Startup: winlogin.exe in the log after killbox.

Should i wait until we finish cleaning the system before deleting AVG? should i delete Killbox as well? sorry if sometimes i ask obvious questions but i am a novice when it comes to computers

thanks again, your a gem
