I'm having a problem with the anniversary update not installing on my laptop. I haven't received the update via windows update yet at all. but have tried the downloader and also an .iso file the install the update. Which niether have worked. Also have had some suggestions on removing antivirus software closing services and updating display drivers before trying to update. Haven't tried all that yet, but another suggestion was to create a new user, update then log back into original account. I have a few questions though. Can that be done with an non administrator account or should I just see if the other option works first.  I haven't had any luck in this so I'm asking the easiest way to tackle this problem first.

If you have downloaded an ISO of Windows 10 1607, then you need to do a clean install. Save all of your data and use your ISO to completely install a fresh copy of Windows 10 because that is exactly what the Anniversary Edition is, it is a new version of Windows.

Remember to back up before you attempt to use the ISO and you will be fine. Since you have already downloaded the ISO expect to spend a minimum of 10 minutes, possibly more, to perform this installation.

Was this a upgrade?

When was Windows 10 installed on this computer?

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.
