I would like to PCI Express or something a video card to replace my onboard video.  I honestly think this will work fine - if it doesn't so what?

I'm just wondering, can anyone recommend me a card.  Just any card(s) that are compatble with that particular eMachines (T6412).

It can be nice or simple, perhaps I could even try more than one.  Like is there a Geforce that might work?  I'll have to look up the specs

on that machine.  But I guess it's PCI.  I can disable the video onboard, then reboot with the new card installed.

Thanks.

Also, can I get this on ebay or some big PC parts superstore?  It's an old PC.

I found someone else who had the same question - apparently, I need to be consicous of power with some of the video cards - may need a new ATX PSU or later-backwards-c ompatible.

So I'm going to look for the ATI X700, ATI X800, or PCI-e x700 now.  I hear that these automatically disable the onboard video which is nice, so you could still go back to it in a pinch.

ATI X700 Pro PCI-ex card.

There is a new one available, perhaps I could go higher but I need to get this job done in a hurry.
