Dear all,

I have a I omega Select Desktop External Hard drive 1TB

2.0 USB Hi-Speed
P/N 31803900
Model - GDHDU

When I power up, I hear the disk starting to spin - stop - start again and so on for ever. The led light keeps on burning without interruption, so I doubt that it is linked to a power problem such as another post on this forum about the same product.

I assume that I could find someone to extract the disk and to recover the contents, but I first would like to know : is anyone familiar to this problem ? Can it be solved without extracting the disk ?

Many thanks !

It could be a problem with the enclosure's power supply, the drive itself, or the USB bridge card. Because a power brick may be hard to find you can pull the drive and use a USB adapter. If the drive still powers on and off using the adapter you would need a professional recovery service to pull your data.
