Hello,

Starting last week my computer started making problems, since wednesday it crashed every 10-40 minutes giving me the bluescreen error "unexpected store exception" and rarely sometimes "Memory management" in the wednesday morning i saw that theres a new windows update aviable so after a few BSODs i decided to update windows, the update changed nothing, i checked for new drivers, installed a new driver for my graphic card, no changes, i googled for the problem and found the solution to turn off fast startup, turned it off, still got bluescreens, i ran memtest and chkdsk, no errors found, i checked for fragmentation of my hard drives, C was 5 % fragmented, i defragmented it, no changes.

Because i suspected a RAM problem i went into the Bios and checked how the ram is adressed, i found out that the Ram is adressed with a lower clock and voltage than it is recomended by the manufacturer, the timings were wrong to, i fixed that, noticed that the ram workload got down, but the bluescreens continued

Then i found bleepingcomputer and looked trough the bluescreen section, i ran memtest86+ as described here https://www.sysnative.com/forums/hardware-tutorials/3909-test-ram-memtest86.html#post28391 , it ran 12 hours strait for 14 passes and found no errors, then i ran seatools as described here https://www.sysnative.com/forums/hardware-tutorials/4072-hard-drive-hdd-diagnostics.html it abortet one long test after 3 hours, restarted it, did a new long test and it found some errors, fixed them, restarted the computer and it worked again, it worked for 4 days without any problems.

Today however the BSODs came back, the fact that seatools fixed it last time and the fact that my main hard drive is very old let me suspect that its an hardware problem with the hard drive, but before i buy a new one i want confirmation on this.

the bluescreens appear when the computer is used, when i just start the computer, log in and do nothing, just desktop and a few autostart programms, the pc runs for hours, when i watch youtube videos, play video games or use any programs for example adobe premiere for videoediting or pro tools for audioediting it crashes.

i ran the sysnative BSOD Dump + System File Collection App, it stucked on waiting for system info so i ziped it myself, perfmon however doesnt work, when i run it it just does nothing, i let it ran for 30 minutes one time and it gave me no output at all.

my System:
self build
· OS - Windows 10 64 bit pro
· Age of system (hardware) the oldest parts are about 10 years old but im not sure about that, most parts got replaced over time, the newest parts should be about 2 years old
· Age of OS installation - have you re-installed the OS? i installed Windows 10 right after the release, i reinstalled it once or twice but dont know when that was

· CPU Intel core i5 3570k
· Video Card Evga nvidia geforce gtx 660 ti sc+
· MotherBoard - asus p8 z77-v LE Plus
· Power Supply - aerocool strikex 800W
Ram: Geil Black Dragon 2 x 4 8 GB DDR3 1866 MHz CL 9-10-9-28
Hard drives: Seagate ST31000528AS 1 TB HDD SATA (System drive) + Seagate ST2000DX001-1CM164 2 TB SSHD SATA

i would appreciate any help, i need my computer not only for entertainment but for my studies in sound engineering and i got a load of work i have to finnish in the next weeks.
Please Notice that i am located in Germany and that there may be a time difference and i may be at sleep when you are answering

EDIT: I wasn't at home since posting here, otherwise i would have done it already, now im running Seatools again, im posting from my Laptop

Unfortunately it appears that the system has pirated software.
Please get a legitimate copy installed and we'll be glad to help.

Here's suggestions on how to ensure that your version is legitimate:  http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/genuine

Please be aware that we may not be able to fix it (as the hacks that were done to activate it will cause the OS to behave differently than we expect it to). If that's the case, our efforts to help may just waste your time. Secondly, the forum rules prohibit assisting with pirated software - so the topic would be closed if that is the case.

As a courtesy, I will offer an analysis of your issues using the reports you provided.
I will not answer any questions about the analysis until the system is made legitimate.
If you do make it legitimate, please submit a new set of reports for us to check.

Just FYI, sometimes the owner won't know about this.  So here's 2 scenarios that might ring a bell:
- if they had a "friend" help with the computer - and the "friend" installed a pirated copy.
- or they used a copy that they had from another OEM computer.  The OEM license is tied to the hardware that it came from - so you can't just use it on another system (that means that it's pirated).

And here's the analysis:

I find that fixing errors on a hard drive during the diagnostics has a hight likelyhood of having those errors recur.

Often this is due to a failing hard drive that hasn't failed enough to set off the alarms.
If this is the case, wait a week or two and run the long test again (it won't hurt to run it sooner).

If it gives errors again - then it's time for a new hard drive.

Don't forget that you'll need to backup your stuff and will need recovery media to install Windows on the new hard drive.

Your UEFI/BIOS (version 0404) dates from 2012.  Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any UEFI/BIOS updates available for your system.  If you are able to install the update through Windows (without booting from an external drive), then go ahead and update it.  WARNING - if the computer might shut down during this procedure, please don't do it, as this may physically damage the computer and prevent it from booting.
FYI - W8 and W10 communicate more with the UEFI/BIOS than previous versions of Windows, so it's important to ensure that the UEFI/BIOS is kept up to date (and that outdated UEFI/BIOS' may be the cause of some compatibility issues).

Although you appear to have a reasonable number of Windows Update hotfixes for this version of your OS, please double check for any new Windows Updates.  It only takes one update to cause a problem, so it's essential that you have all of them.  The actual number is not important.  Rather it's important that you checked manually, installed any available updates, and didn't experience any errors when checking or updating.

Most of the memory dumps also blame "hardware_disk" - so your hard drive is the prime suspect here.

Thank you very much Usasma,

My Windows license is indeed a (windows 7) OEM license (i used the free upgrade to windows 10) from my old computer, i knew that it is not the most appropiate way to deinstall an OEM copy and reinstall it on a new computer but i didn't knew it is considered piracy (Especially since the german supreme court (BGH - Bundesgerichtshof) stated in case I ZR 244/97 from the seventh of june 2000 (still valid after 16 years) that Microsoft cant prohibit the sale of OEM versions to private consumers and the usage of OEM versions on custom private users devices, its pretty hard to translate and i couldn't find a english version), however i understand your concerns and i am very grateful that you provide me with an analysis regardless.

As is said, i ran seatools again and again it found some errors (7), fixed them and now it works again, i think in a few days the problems will return as you said. I will run seatools again in a few days and look if it encounters the errors again.

My hard drive is besides the cd drive the oldest part of my computer, i used it for 8 years now and i use my computer very much. In the last 2 years the drive keeps getting slower and slower, i think now is the time the drive comes to an end. It served me well for a long time and its ok that its finaly to much after all these years. In about 2 weeks i am going to buy a new hard drive and i will replace the old one, i wanted to try out the new firecuda series anyways, now i have a good reason to.

I am quite hesitant with upgrading my BIOS because i would have to do it via bios flashback but thank you for pointing out that my BIOS is outdatet

I double checked for updates, the only updates i could find were  KB3176934 and KB3176936 which are pretty new. I will do a new installation on the new drive anyway, i will make sure that it will get alle the updates and hotfixes.

I will try to buy a new license if i find a good offer that is not to expensive (but is still legit and legal) next month or the month after that, windows 10 pro is sadly very expensive and the upgrade time is over, if the free upgrade would be still running i could just buy a windows 7 license , probably an MAR license, and upgrade it to win10 (I heard that it is still possible to use a win 7/8/8.1 license for windows 10 when using a installation  with threshold 2. is this true?).

again, thank you very much for your help.
